You can’t hold on to beauty.
By nature She is a flowing stream, sparkling as she passes.
To capture her is to make her frigid,
Lifeless like a statue.
No, beauty has to flow.
Then let it grow and glow
As memory.
You can’t grasp sunrise
Clouds as they blaze
The glory of light
Flame-flashing across the sky
In iridescent colors.
Oceans of opalescent fire glow
For a moment, then fade blue to day
As you travel through.
You can’t seize the notes of a song.
The vibrations gush
Melody and harmony
Transforming the heart,
Rhythm igniting the passions
Inviting you to dance, freely
In their embrace.
Let beauty swell and teem with life.
Let beauty caress your soul.
And flood your eyes with tears
Pouring down your face,
Pooling in your broken heart,
But don’t try to own it.
Let it go.
