Seedlings - tiny, tender, pushing up through hard soil, forming to embrace glorious light with verdant leaves, reaching deep to a firm foundation to soak in rich nourishment. Thoughts in one's mind seek fertile soil, hoping to sprout into seedlings with potential to make a difference, to bear fruit, or at least to provide shade from summer sun.

Remember Your Vows
Several years ago, early in the first grade year, one of my curious boys was eavesdropping on a conversation I was having with the Principal of our school. The Principal and I were talking about the vows from a coming wedding. We were comparing whether we had included the words "love, honor, and obey" in our own vows to our spouses. Ty overheard the conversation at the point where the Principal commented, "I don't even remember my vows." Having just learned about the importance of some such thing in reading, Ty exclaimed, "What? Mr. G doesn't remember his vows??? He doesn't know his vows? A-E-I-O-U!"

Yey! You're a blogger now too! And I am the first one to write a comment on your blog! Oh those crazy kids!
Well, I think everyone ought to know both their vows and their constants. It doesn't do well to forget such important things as those.
That is too funny from the aspect of the child and a bit concerning from the aspect of the adult. How can you keep vows you can't remember? Welcome to blogging Jama!
Yeah, BJ, you are right. That man has since gotten divorced. It just goes to show you . . .
